AA prices and GS prices on their figures aren't even comparable, so..... that being said, if that's a little light saber in their hand then its the best release yet!
By this reasoning, anyone who paints a toy from now on better check on all previously used color pallettes, so as not to steal anyone else's design. No two people or companys should paint a toy the same. Not even if they are two completely different and unrelated sculpts... Makes for a pretty limited future for toys. Personally, I think the fact that Luke painted the fleshy Anakin Skywalker head instead of the Vader helmet makes this completely different and cool.
Or... Who cares... These are toys... I don't think it's a nod, or stealing. Just happy coincidence that people enjoy using certain colors... Christ.....
I don't think this particular colorway is any coincidence... but you're right, who cares? It's not an exact copy. Although, you can certainly tell where the inspiration was drawn from... but that's okay, isn't it? I don't think we'd be anywhere if nobody was inspired by anything that came before them.
It's not the first time that alifeintoys has popped by this thread to dribble a little pee and odds are it won't be the last. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck... best to ignore it * It's mos def an AA nod, I like to think it's based on the scene where Darf is in that elaborate chair that puts his hat on for him, and yes, that is a light saber in his pocket! *Click HERE if you enjoy a little double-standard now and again!
i'd like to think that it's darth from his death scene at the end of jedi. and i'd also like to think that aa wasn't the first one to do a darth vader homage this one's more creative anyway.
you don't like it... we understand. and i'm not sure if we care, other than there's one less person trying to get one. i haven't decided if i like it or not. "originality" issues aside, i'm really falling into the "sick of star wars" category...
what chris said, except i'm not sick of star wars and color schemes are borrowed all the time, who cares.
Regardless of the homage, I hope Luke decides to some more batches of Oji in this fashion. I like the idea of a relatively subdued, matched parts body with a wild head. There are a LOT of possibilities in that direction!
I don't care about either AA or Gordy, but the originality argument is a dead fucking horse. By those standards all frankenruge, Hawaii, Tokyo, thrash out, blah blah are rip off color ways and no one is allowed to use them... Let's not forget about camo. Ripping off the military now... They are pieces of plastic sitting on a shelf. Buy it if you think it's cool.
True...But I never said that and that was not my point. I was asking BBB how this release is more creative than what Anraku has done. I just see a Vader tribute.
this. he could have easily made the head black too but he took it to the next level and added a little nod to a part of the story. i appreciate that. just my opinion, btw. don't no one get bent out of shape over it.
Every other toy maker does tributes, often the same ones over and over again based on pre-existing IP's from movies or shows or comics. What is up everyone's butt about this?
Changing the subject for a second… Did anyone pick up one of D-Lux's Neo Hawaii Ojisans and change their mind? I'm REEEEEAAAAAAAALLLLLY wanting one. Like, bad.
