I've recently joined on the recommendation of a friend and long time contributor to this forum. Thank you to the admin team and mods for approving my account.
I'm an older collector; old enough to remember lusting after the Popy/Mattel Shogun Warrior Godzilla when it was first released but have only been collecting vinyl toys since 2015. Aside from those, I'm also into vintage and reaction figures, as well as quirky old toys, with a bias toward wind up and tin toys.
I've read all the FAQs and other intros, so will try my best not to bring forth the wrath of the initiated but look forward to slowly learning a lot more about both the community and vinyl art.
Gimme a year and I'll be the judge of that!
If I'm 12, Trump is honest and pale.
More like 12 x 4; so not a bad guess!
My knees and back tell me otherwise but thank you.
Your honesty and innocence will most assuredly bring forth the wrath of which you speak. Tread carefully, and do not reveal your vulnerabilities. This is not a forum, it is a gauntlet. You have no choice. You will be tested. Also, sarcasm is your friend.
Welcome to Skullbrain!!!
I've been told that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit!
...thus, it is rather opportune that I am small in humorous stature and enjoy swimming in that muddy puddle.
Appreciate the welcomes and suggestions that I am actually not as old as the small children in my home make me feel. If it was closer to Christmas I'd hope they were just visiting elves but I have a horrible feeling that I am partially responsible for them.
Everyone knows the lowest form of wit is PUNS.
Geez, get WIT it!!!
(see what I did there? I’m HILARIOUS.)
@Mr Fox welcome
Yer still a slip of a lad. It only gets worse . . . trust me!
Cheers Andy... I have that horrible feeling!
Hello! Been collecting for the past few years. My first piece was a RXH and it's been an adventure ever since. Glad to be here!
Hello all! My name is Ryan. Im new to Skullbrain, and somewhat new to the hobby. I’ve been obsessed with Toho kaiju since I was a little kid and in terms of collecting have mostly collected Marmit and M1 stuff. But I more recently started getting interested in the designer/indy sofubi through Instagram. This message board even came as a recommendation from an IG collector buddy I made. Look forward to learning more from everyone here, and thanks to the admins for approving me!
My name is Franck. I am a French film maker and toy collector for a long time now. I love weird, old, horror and monsters movies and I have two toes glued. Sofubi is a new thing for me (only one year in). I'm into classic stuff (M1-Go, Butanohana, Zollmen, Bear model, Bullmark, Target Earth...) .I like my sofubi nice, not too gross, not to cute, colorful and cheap. I really don't know why I love those things so much and I'm here to find out. I guess.
ps: Thanks to Skeet_toy for helping me register on this forum.
Hello. Been collecting toys (Transformers/MOTU/TMNT) since I was a kid. Then moved on to vinyl stuff and now I’m mostly into sofubi stuff. Into the darker more grimy stuff.
Howdy folks, my name is Sam (the mop) ! (@samthemop on insta or @toysandbeans for toy stuff)
Been a fan of sofubi for a few years but only started seriously collecting maybe about 2ish years ago. I usually keep the toy talk on insta but finally decided to check this place out.
I'm currently going to school studying theatrical design so I have to make due with collecting sofubi on a college budget but it is what it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don't have a huge collection. I really like the small sofubi boyos and I've also got a few decently sized toys as well. Sucker for any pink sofubi. Currently addicted to fig lab's RE:BOOT series.
My favorite movie of all time has to be "Nacho Libre". The way that Nacho Libre treats himself to nice clothes parallels to me buying toys when i get my paycheck. I would have to say "Good Burger" comes in at a close second.
I would take a burger over pizza any day of the week.
All in all i'm a pretty nice guy and I'm always open to discussion about toys and stuff. I'm also not opposed to criticism as long as it's justified and done in a respectful way (Art criticism is a big part of my curriculum so I'm used to dishing it).
I'm based around Los Angeles so I never miss a local toy event!
So thanks to the people who referred me here and for approving my account. Look forward checking out what skull brain has to offer !
Beneath the clothes, we find a man. And beneath the man we find... his nucleus!
