@Michael Beverage Only connection I know of is Hukkokudo reproducing IKB and Yonezawa pachi, though I really wish they’d have also repro’d Miura, parroting myself once more, especially Pegyaos. I barely found Pegyaos on Mandarake lookin’ for the Marusan Gyaos, and I love it! That would’ve been a great reproduction.

If there is a greater connection between the three, that’d be awesome information to have!

Actually, I've always wondered who generated those cards. A lot of the names are completely made up. For example, Zagora is called 'Cycloking'.

Hukkokudo is presumed to have obtained some sort of approval of the reproductions, as the headers have copyright marks for the original companies. They did make an effort to legitimize the creation of these figures, for example, by tracking down the artist that made one of the original Bagun (Deathra) illustrations, so it's not impossible. It's always been a question in my mind, however, whether these were all actual approvals or whether some were just attributions on Hukko's part, as I would strongly suspect that many of those companies and their principals are long gone by now.

@akum6n Thank you for weighing in, Daniel! I’ve always been curious if Hukko obtained explicit approval, or if they simply took the initiative to bring these toys back out of love, and got the silent “okay” because of standing between Marmit and Target Earth. Even with the original sculptors/artists/conceptualizers gone I’d still think *maybe* someone out there affiliated would’ve expressed a certain degree of disapproval. Rebirthing pachi is what introduced me to the sub genre(?) vintage, and @chimmychazz has been patiently educating me a bit more along the way.

Kind of strange that this one popped up freakishly soon after I barely even learned of its existence. But I am grateful nonetheless! First and foremost, the faces. Holy shit, are these insanely fun and goofy. A buddy of mine told me they resemble the Toys ‘R’ Us mascot, Geoffrey Giraffe, and I haven’t really been able to let go of it since. The wings have a texture that’s reminiscent to me of wet wallpaper when it sort of bunches a bit after drying, which I find very interesting. The bottom heavy chubbiness of the body is just nice for someone that likes chunky toys. Thick, thunder thighs for stompin’ those Ghidorah space storms. The linear and X’d textures for what I’m assuming are scale - like are interesting, as well. Not that I’d necessarily even know, but it just “feels” very 70’s to me. Overall, though, I’m very excited for this to be my first Ghidorah toy in my collection.

Outstanding photo and adoption Robert! I don't ever think I've seen one this pristine in condition, just look at all that gold, and the eyes are perfect!:shock::shock: Try to find the pachi Aboras next, he's a real cutie. My goodness, what a specimen! :D

@deafmetal @Mr. Humphreys Thank you both so much! I’m ecstatic!!! I’m also very surprised by the condition, but it did come from another longtime collector, so at the same time I’m not. But it’s got great shelf wear, which adds so much personality to an already great looking toy. I fully intend on hunting down Goji, Aboras and Gomora!

These are gorgeous photos, Robert. Thanks for highlighting such wonderful toys. Makes we want to hunt for them all over again! Man, you have been on a hectic of a successful vintage tear lately. I am not sure if you noticed or not, but one of the really cool things about these toys which ends up surprising most people, is that there is some very subtle glow touches added. I don't want to say more and ruin any surprise, but just give it a go and see what happens.

@ultrakaiju Thank you, Steve!!! I’ve had a great friend on the East Coast helpin’ me out with knowledge, companies, toys, where and how to look. They’ve been awesome! So I owe much of the success to them! And I most certainly did notice the GID eyes and teeth...AND small spray on the belly!!! I’ll have to do my best to get a decent charge on ‘em and a photo!

Thank you, Anthony! I admittedly feel bad comin' up on this so soon, dare I say easily, knowin' some vets have been on the hunt for some time. Makes me even more appreciative for being able to hold it, even more so to own it.

And thank you, Rei! Very much appreciated sentiment! I hope to eventually come into the remaining three! I'd love to see 'em all grouped together.

If it tickles anyone's fancy, there's a wonderful IG page to follow called @pachikaiju!

Just wanted to add my congratulations and admiration for your recent find, Robert. The 'Ghidorah' has always been my favorite of the Miura patchis, mostly because I feel like the company thought they were getting away with something by giving it only 2 heads.

The Ghidorah, Aboras, Godzilla and Gomora Miura patchis are very distinct in appearance and style from the prior vinyls attributed to Miura Toy. I wonder if they were produced to be sold alongside the Popy Kingzaurus figures, rather than the Bullmark/Marusan style figures. The size, color choice and texture of the sculpts seems more similar to the Kingzaurus figures as well.

^ Nice observation, Daniel. I can totally see the KZ comparison now that you've pointed it out, and it makes total sense that the company would follow the sales and style trends of the broader monster market in such a way.

Please add me to the chorus of congratulators, Robert.

Thank you, Daniel and David! I’d have to say this is my second favorite Miura Toy, only bested by Gomora, who’s my full on favorite kaiju. If rumors ring true that Pegyaos is a Miura sculpt, though, that’d take the number one spot. But I digress!

Echoing David I have to say that is quite the observation, indeed. The Twin Tail, Baltan, Goji, Ghidorah and Miclas immediately come to mind, as far as the vinyl color and paints go. And they’re the only pachi of licensed characters I know of that Miura’s touched!

This is a pretty big one! A year or so ago I was searching for the Marusan Gyaos on Mandarake, and came across the Pegyaos. Had no idea what it was, just loved the visual of it. With Charlie educating me about pachi and Connell educating me about Miura the Pegyaos became an immediate want. Obviously the red vinyl with metallic blue sprays is a total win, but I love its stance and textures. My favorite detail is the winged arms having full articulation! My favorite pachi toy to date.

I had posted this once before with borrowing Connell’s, but this is one that I’d won on YAJ. Mainly bringing it back because there’s a pigment difference in the vinyl base. This one is a bit more orange, as where Connell’s is very red. This one looks a bit more aged to my eyes.

And a couple minis for fun. Thinner vinyl, but really cool representations of what I feel they’re derivative from. And so simplistic in their presentation!

The hits just keep on hittin’. Miura Goji. LOVE how chunky this damn thing is! Kinda reminds me of the King Goji by Marusan, albeit very loosely.

This one, in particular, has a very similar feel to the smaller Miura Toy dinos, e.g., the almond-shaped eyes and blocky sharp teeth.

Awesome observation, Daniel! Now that you mention, I see the almond shaped eyes in all of Miura’a toys! I’ll have to look up images of Gomora, Aboras and the standing Triceratops, but I’m sure I’ll find similar to them, though! And that’s one of the sculptural details I love I Miura: the teeth. Not just teeth sculpted into a solid block mouth, but actual jagged teeth into an open crevice you could actually fit something small into! Very small, of course!

Came up on the remaining three Miura minis, but all five cohesively through the help and generosity of @chimmychazz! Man, oh, man, do I love this Eleking rip. There's so much detail packed into these minis, but literally just the single color, maybe two or three stroke sprays, give the minimalism total life! My lady also couldn't stop laughing at the Kanegon rip when I unpacked it. So that was fun!
