^ I couldn't be happier that your lens is focused with a growing frequency on toys that I have an actual passion for. You, Sir Robert, are an excellent pornographer.

Thanks, David! For as new as these toys are to me I’m quickly growing a passion for them myself! That being said, BOOM. More passion from the pornografubi.

This one is rather damn tall! Not that it shouldn’t be, but I wasn’t expecting it to be a standard 9” kaiju size from photos. And I’m extremely satisfied with how good of shape it’s in. I love the combination here of a triceratops, but as standing bipedalism. Once more, the teeth are sculpted into individual pointed shapes, as opposed to a blocked mouth. The only thing that would’ve set this off even more for me is a minimal spray on the chest. But I’m far from complaining.

THIS GOMORA PACHI IS INCREDIBLE!!! If you know Ultraman, which would be insulting to insinuate anyone in this thread doesn’t, you immediately know where this derives. But the subtle changes in the sculpt that gain its escape from licensed territory certainly does put it in a class of its own. It’s also worth noting, that, the teeth, like Ghidorah and, as I’ve come to discover, Goji, have GID paint across them.

This thread never ceases to make me jelappy. And I owe so much of that to you, Robert. Keep on adopting these superb toys and sharing your amazing photo skills with the rest of us.

.... I'll just continue to peek longingly over the fence, shedding a silent internal tear

Thank you, Steve!!! That is quite the compliment AND sentiment! Very much appreciative of you expressing both! And with that, a little extra of a treat to chew on! :D I present to you:

Glowmora, Glowji, and Glowdorah!!! The GID is paint, and not at all vinyl based, so getting the proper timing and as much glow as I could proved difficult! Hope to find Aboras to complete the quintet eventually!

I'll take the bellies too, sure, but there's some serious badassery going on in this crop:

These are some GREAT photos Robert. Really love the glow shot. Brings out the crude charm in them.

@toothaction Too flattering and unworthy. BUT! If it were to be the banner, I’d insist on completing the quartet in a shot beforehand it is displayed in such grandiose fashion!

@XVivaHateX Thank you very much! Crude charm certainly is the best overall way to describe Miura Toy, and you can’t help but see what’s considerably “bad” about them, but that it also makes it what’s so amazing. Despite being so new to the realm I’d say they’re my favorite vintage company and toys.

A little off-topic, but I noticed a strong resemblance between the feet on the Miura Ghidora and those of Gargamel's Zagoran. Zag's feet are also pretty drastically different to the Daikyo Zagora, and Gargamel has lifted from Miura with the Tetran. The two are different enough that they could be unrelated, but the overall shape and raised nail folds stood out to me.

Ggml’s resculpted quite a bit of vintage pachi toys, and Hukkokudo has re - issued a lot as well. I’m thankful for both, but I wish Hukkokudo would’ve been able to do more Miura figures, like Pegyaos. I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see Ggml find some sculpting influence/implementation from like the likes of Miura!

Not to dampen the enthusiasm for these toys but has there been any confirmation that all these random pachis are Miura ( Pegyaos, the orange triceratops the minis, etc)? As far as I know the only ones that are actually have the stamp. Was just thinking it might be confusing for some people trying to figure out whats what.

The Ghidora stamp is different but does say "Miura". Also interested though, not knowledgeable at all here.

Charlie and me had been discussing that. There’s similarities in the sculpts, in my opinion, that lead me to believe they’re all under Miura. For one, they all share the same headers, which I’d find to be off if they weren’t by the same company. I also find a few similarities in the sculpts across the board, most notably teeth, eyes and some texture digs with a particular tool. Charlie and me speculate that the pachi figures, minis and all, came out first before they had a company name. Then the dino trio dropped with the foot stamp, and the Godzilla/Ultraman pachi to follow.

I realize I am quoting from 2011, but was it determined whether or not this guy is from Miura? I just picked one up for myself today, I really dig it.

@Roger Firstly, congrats on that score! I’m super jealous, but equally excited for you! Secondly, I think that one also falls under the same speculations as the Pegyaos and the orange, standing triceratops. Lots of shared textures of and sculpt similarities.

Thanks, guys. I was shooting it during sunset to see how the colors turned out.

@pachikaiju on Instagram has a bluish one:

I love that account. He’s friends with a good handful of people I met in Japan last September, and they all have killer collections and fun meetups. That Ghidorah is so, so, SO fantastic. You must be elated with the recent acquisition, Roger! That lavender base vinyl is so calming on the eyes.

Yeah, I’ve seen quite a few unmarked pachi classified under Miura by the likes of both Mandarake and indie listings on YJA! Same with even that green Ghidorah!
