Alas, woe to us mere mortals once again, stranded as we are without any means of achieving such delights. * and that artwork is just phenomenal. Even were I not a huge Gundam 0079 fan already, this does everything for me.
Now it can be told... Why couldn't it be told prior?? It was on the blog and information via mworld. My thoughts? Rad toy. Love the hand gun.
^ Eh, I just figured it would be cooler to wait to post about it until after the fest went down. Plenty of other venues for pre-hype, as you say.
Eh, no interest in the human toys. Give me robots. For those who don't know, the artwork is derived from the opening credits of the original Gundam series.
Mo painted micros = mo better. Can anyone tell what the vinyl base color is for the Kurozaro/Taiya release? Maybe white or an off-white....certainly not a color OMB uses frequently.
Has he ever used that color before? the paint app on those is nice and bright.. really great contrast.
クロザル looks to be reissued on pale blue and is really great but imho the earlier painted on peach can not get any better Has it really been 8 years since that release? I thought they had used that color vinyl on a few earlier releases, used on Chibul?
I think you are right John, Chibull in grandpa sweater and Deathlam both look to be pretty similar in base color, probably a few others as well. My eyes are shit these days, I can't tell. At this point it's probably pretty hard for Buta to come up with novel base colors that work for the characters, with so many releases in the can... Let's let the Toothy Oracle weigh in.
Till this day still the only successful YJA Buta auction I've ever won- well only because not as many people were chasing Butanohana back then I love the flesh color with the dark arms/legs and the touch of blue.
I think Kichigai was referring to that release Lixx. I concur, it's the best. Nice simple sprays. I snagged the flesh one from a great boardie last year. Lots o' personality-another underrated Buta sculpt.
Yeah that is the version which I previously mentioned, tho I thought there was also a peach with olive spray on the blog ages ago.......
This release also saw the first numbered editon (afaik) for Buta. The Amuros (アムロ・レイ) have a serial number on the header. An edition of 100? There was a warning on the blog about refusing to sell to resellers, still +10 could be found on yja & elsewhere almost immediately. I wonder if they planned to keep track of the numbers and who bought them. Anyone in the know care to shine a light?
Yes the amuro is numbered. i also think it is 100 pieces, but still managed to sell out relatively quickly at the event! The ohashis actually recorded the people buying their stuff on a videocam. I don't believe they actually keep track of the who purchased which number though. It is impossible to weed out resellers at events. I am sure the Ohashis also don't want to lug any left overs back with them at the end of the day. On a separate note, there is a good chance that Buta will feature at the next SF.
Thank you Joe! A videocamera you say? Sounds cumbersome, but might work as a deterrent perhaps. Sufes is less than a month away, they sure are keeping busy! Licenced or original stuff if you don't mind me asking...?
Actually not cumbersome. They had it mounted on a tripod and just set the recording on. They did this from the last Sufes. I think probably some micros again at Sufes?
