I found this pic online of the limited blue Jiatorima from the last batch: Really hope at some point I can find a Jiatorima, the last Uchugenjin, and some of the other Keratosarus.
From the translation I read, I believe that bird was available if you spent a certain amount on the releases, I believe it was 25k yen.
I just wanted to do a single post with pics of all versions of the Ceratosarus, Uchegenjin, and Diatryma reprints lately: Ceratosarus: Uchugenjin: Diatryma:
Each day in these threads I shave off a little more of my ignorance of the goings on in the modern toy-world, and each day I find another crushingly lovely something I'd love to bring into my already crowded home... although I suppose if one of these landed on my finger, like a Disney bird, it would probably leave with my arm.
+1. I'm drawn to the Diatryma, Ceratosarus and the 2 headed Ghidorah looking sculpts the most. Awesome toys. Edit: for corrected spelling
Omg. Everyone stop spelling the names like that. Jiatorima = Diatryma (aka, Gastornis) Keratosaurus = Ceratosaurus They are Latin names. Not Japanese.
Dr. Grant is rolling in his fictional grave (if he died, I dunno, how many Jurassic Park books are there?)
Ok Ok Daniel. Sorry Google translator isn't the best at converting japanese text, these were also the spellings on GT so I just copied them. Fixed. Anyhow I thought I recognized the bird from my old 'Walking with Prehistoric Beasts' BBC DVD set. I'm pretty sure the segment was called 'Terror Birds'. Apparently they were carnivorous 8 foot tall, 300 pound killers. Here's a illustration:
It's so pissed off, but it's hot pink so (much like the pissed off hot pink wearing fat ladies of my childhood in the late 80's) I can't take it seriously. I can (unlike the same ladies) think it's pretty cool anyway.
Damn - first new pink toy I've wanted in while and sold out at Grumble Toy. Quite a nice paint job on this one.
