What are the odds that the new Sofvi Life Giant Pretty Godzilla gets a wide release? How do we know if this colorway is truly limited to the show only vs a preview sale that will get wide distribution later ?

I'm seeing this one labeled as an Anraku toy online. I could see that, but it is a distinct sculpt to the Godzilla in the Anraku thread. What's the story here?

Anyone know the story behind this colorway? I’ve seen bootleg Z’s with a similar coloring.

Also was told ( by August Ragone) this was the coloring that was used in the Manga.

Finally! I have been anxiously waiting for Leopardon to be added to Medicom's lineup of super robots. A few fell short of my expectations (damn that Voltes V), but I think Bear Model nailed the proportions and details on this one.

Another TOEI Spider-Man is also up for pre-order. This one is set in an action pose.

Godzilla fans rejoice! For anyone who missed out on the Marmit Shin Godzillas in the past, MCT Tokyo has them up exclusively for sale to U.S. residents.

The sculpt looks slightly modified from before. The head looks like it has been bulked up a bit, but it could just be the angle. At the very least, the hands are now facing up (previously down). Perhaps just old prototype photos?

There is also a giant ver. scaled to 35.5cm which I believe is the first of its kind (correct me if I'm wrong).

Definitely not my favorite Shin sculpt, and kind of a letdown coming from Marmit, but at these prices it is hard to resist.

Niceeeee. Thanks for the heads up! Had to grab that clear red version. $35 DHL was a punch in the bag but I’ll live.

Have not been the hugest Shin Godzilla fan myself(I’mma try to see it again though and see if it grows on me, sometimes it takes that) but that sculpt is gorgeous. Been really debating on grabbing one at some point.

I have held out against the Giant Pretty Godzilla for so many years and thought I had it covered, but they finally got me with blue Hawaiian. Now, who would want such a huge-ass toy taking up such precious shelf space in their collection?

I believe the pre-order window closed mid-November. Due to licensing they were only made available in Japan. I pre-ordered Leopardon through Rakuten (Project 1/6) using Tenso, but I haven’t received a shipping confirmation yet. I’ve ordered quite a few items from Medicom retailers over the last few months and there’s been a lot of delays, most probably due to COVID-19.

They also released this non-action pose variant earlier last year which I’ve seen turn up a few times on Y!JA at a fair price.

Anyone here order one of the Marmit Shin Godzilla figures? I had received mine back in March which was apparently the wrong color (as I was notified by Medicom). I thought the paint looked off compared to the sample image, but I just figured it was a case of "the final product may vary." It appears they released slightly different variations of all the recent runs back-to-back. One assortment was sold through MCT Tokyo, the other through C.J.MART. I guess the fulfillment team got some of them mixed up. Medicom informed me of the situation, told me to ship back the incorrect product and that they would reimburse me for postage. I did so and just received the right one yesterday (much better looking IMO). I applaud their effort make things right, though I am still waiting for that partial refund. :?

The first image is the C.J.MART ver. which is more of an ash gray. The other is the MCT Tokyo offering. Both were produced in clear red vinyl.

Every time I see that this thread gets updated... I hope that it's news that Medicom is releasing an edition of Shelterbank's Mike figure.

I'm pretty sure this won't be for everyone, but I was excited by the announcement of a new Toei Retro Sofubi subseries. It seems these EX models will be a bit larger at 30cm and taken in a different stylistic direction than the original product line. The first model—K from Robot Detective—looks like something straight out of a classic manga... imagery produced by artists like Monkey Punch (Lupin III) comes to mind. The price is just a bit of a deterrent at 16,500yen (tax included). I'd say somewhere between that of the standard and king size figures would be more reasonable.

EDIT: I wasn't familiar with the manga. It definitely appears to be a take on that variation of the character. I believe the canine head belongs to another robot (villain) named Jackal.

This is, single handedly, the most important release Medicom has ever done. Specifically the Tom sculpts. Jerry’s a mark.

    These are super cute!

didn’t think I’d ever consider having a toy from Tom and Jerry but here we are now.
The staircase Tom is a winner. I wonder how big they are?

@gatiio Tom & Jerry was a big, big part of my daily mornings as a kid when they’d run a couple hours of episodes a day. To this day I still watch compilations of Tom’s screams on YouTube when I need a good chuckle, as well as “The Zoot Cat” and his rendition of Louis Jordan’s “Is You Is or Is You Ain’t My Baby”. These toys of Tom’s unfortunate shapes from accidents are hilarious and hit the nostalgia factor right on the button for me! They are rather small, about 2.5”, but they’re hilarious enough that I wouldn’t at all mind the smaller scale!

I've been wanting a square Tom ever since I saw these sculptures pop up on the internet a couple of years back. They were a one-off so I'm glad Medicom got the hint and made these!

Will definitely be adding the square + cheese Jerry to the collection.

I was just looking for these... I believe at least @TattooDougHardy was as well.

After 7 years Medicom is reproducing these wonderful toys. The new Lion Maru features red gloves—the original had flesh colored hands as per the first 3 episodes—while the new "first appearance" Tiger Joe isn't equipped with his eye patch (which is more iconic but this one is still pretty rad). Other aspects of the toys seem virtually identical.
