Beautiful, but pricey, Owies! Congrats to the lucky parent whoever he/she may be.
$30 from S7 Joe
Lucky ducky! I really do wonder what if you posted up your entire collection, what it would go for these days. And they say we're foolish for buying expensive pieces of plastic! Worth more than it's weight in gold!
...buta, the new crypto currency!
p.s. the chocolate men are revealed (I really wish Mr. O had added Easter Bunny ears to them! )
*Note that the leader has a red nose and different eyebrows! They also remind me a little of Strax (of Dr. Who fame)
Mo' iguana love:
Rescued from the Face Nook... I need to take a family snap.
Can you take a full frontal, back, and sideways?
Better yet, can you please line up all of your iguanodons dance follies style?
As long as we're digressing...
Bif Bang Pow! made the finest Sontaran doll what ever was:
Very nice Deevis!
thank you for sharing! love butanohanas!
Izzat drawing up there a hint of things to come? Perhaps a buta Gundam SD?
Mechara needs love, too.
Are all of your toys still tucked away in storage? When do we get another "whole buta collection" shot, Deevis?
I've never seen the up close detail before; quite beautiful and astonishing!
Edit; also there's one up on that auction site for over a grand... yer sitting on a fortune, as they say. ha.
Crowd scene, November of 2011:
I almost fell over when I saw that ending price on the Iguanadon. Makes me wonder what one of the older/rare dinos would go for...
I know! There are even crazed sellers asking +$1000 USD for other single butas!
Beautiful pictures Mr. Tooth! Reminds me that the pieces are to be enjoyed, not worried about.
Great stuff Archam! Looks like they're saying; "Whhoooooooo!" like Ric Flair. Wonderful sculpts, color and pic.
Another "Doozy Auction" for the Hayabusa Falcon Vacuum Lady...
Originally listed at 250000 JPY (yep, all those zeros do belong there!), but after a few successive price reductions and no nibbles, the Seller listed it at a "normal" start price
I can hear Chris swearing like a sailor right now!
That was the piece that got me interested in buta in the first place; that and the giant Sstain and the papier mache...
On a different note;
Even at the end in the lengthening shadows, the Old Ones did as they had done since their tribe began. Each year they welcomed the New Ones, though the numbers always shrank. In fact, this year they adopted a Young One from the One-Offs, a gesture unheard of in ages past.
Many many thankies to you Stevie! I am speechless with your generosity
So very grateful to you, for passing on part of your herd. I will try my best to take care of them. Many heartfelt thanks and blessings go with you <3
Is that some Murakami in back and underneath?
The picture in the back is part of a two panel lithograph set by California artist, Tom Killion. He makes lithograph / wood block prints (the original prints are all hand water colored) similar to the Japanese style, but his subject matter is all of the outdoor hiking and backpacking locations around California (many of which I've backpacked to). It's really neat to see "Japanese" wood block prints of all of my backpacking locations! I was really lucky to collect his works early, the originals are also very hard to find these days...

The little floral painted rock is borrowed from a fellow co-worker at the office, who is also a geologist
