I think they're the best of the lot, but I'm not particularly fond of that style. I'd even take one into my home. Those other guys would hafta hang outside, though.
Love, love, LOVE the new trio, Bo. And those omake are amazing!!! Congrats on the pickups! In lieu of unfortunately missing out on all the aforementioned, I can lovingly contribute new shots of my one Marilla!
Thanks Robert!! And heck yeah! Always enjoy seeing some new shots from you, especially if its anything TE.. Of course nothing short of gorgeous right there. I'd love to get another Marilla (or two) down the line, that figure is one of my favorites in the lineup.
Two, almost three years later, I snagged a still bagged and headered Bagun off of YAJ, and I'm infatuated. When I saw it in Tokyo, it was in a glass case, behind several other toys. So I didn't really get a gauge of its size, or the chance to marvel at it in hand. Wow. This is, hands down, one of THE best toys I've ever held. I couldn't be happier to finally own this one. There's a lot of photos here, so I do apologize. Spoiler THE HEADER ART!!!
@xSuicide Squadx well worth the wait right? Did you have to break the bank to win, if you don't mind me asking? I'm finding loads of old wants, some going back 10 years on YJA recently and all have been original cost or under. This hobby eventually surprises you in good ways the longer you stick with it. Congratulations on your score.
@Lixx Thanks a bunch, dude! And I don’t mind at all! The actual listing only hit me with $85! The shipping through Buyee was a $30 nut buster, though, but I still don’t mind! I also landed my favorite Moon Knight Alpha this morning, but lost out on a FANTASTIC Hukkokudo one off Hedoran. YAJ has been in a very giving mood lately!
That one you scored is the original release. None are easy to find. There are 2 other versions, a dark Navy Blue and a clear unpainted- both are very uncommon. Here is a pic to show how different the light blue Bagun is: The light blue is not as glossy... Also the wings of the light blue are molded in a different color as well. Here is the source material artwork: The man who created Bagun: Anyone who wants to learn more: http://sofvilife.exblog.jp/21039887/ Updating news that Psycho Tanks and Jap Bugs have been completed and are shipping! These 2 dolls are are part of the series that includes Dokugarasu, Grotomon, etc. I just asked a few questions about the other TE dolls some of us have been waiting on and will post again once I have the information.
Holy shit, John, thank you for that plethora of informational goodness! I did know that there were two versions of Bagun, and I did know I scored the original one, which is why I’m so damn excited. Especially bagged and headered. So cool to see the exact illustration the Bagun was birthed in. Lort knows how much it’d cost to get a hold of one of those books. Also fantastic news about the new figures finishing and shipping. I unfortunately missed out on literally every single one, so I won’t be in on any. But I am excited to see what comes forth, and into collectors’ homes.
Thanks for the information @kichigai. I have both the 1st release and similar greenish-blue version with clear brown wings, but was never able to take a good photo of the color of the latter. @xSuicide Squadx - The Sekai no Kaiju books were reprinted by Siccaluna several years back (and, I think, offered by some retailers over here), so you may be able to find a copy on the boards or floating around the usual sites in Japan. I don't recall offhand if the reprints have the fold-out illustration of the Bagun.
My favorite version of the Moon Knight Alpha landed today. Super happy to have this one in hand. Spoiler
Thanks a bunch, Bo! It's been pretty rad to be able to backtrack the sculpts I had to sell off to help the 'rents in a pinch, with Target Earth and others, and then some!
Another major TE want crossed off the list. This version is gorgeous!!! Thank you to the board member that helped get this onto my shelves! Spoiler
Recently came into my favorite version of the Robot Kong, as well as my first Lowbrow Golem. The Golem is goddamn huge, and so ugly in the best of ways. Hoping I can come into others versions of the Golem that aren't sourced from overly inflated prices out of the Netherlands at some point. Spoiler Spoiler
Forgot to post this guy over here: View this post on Instagram KUSOGON OR DIE! Thanks again, beaK! Damn, Robert - you're on a hot buttered roll!
@toothaction Thank you, David! I had 12 or 13 Target Earth toys about three or four years ago, but the parents hit an unexpected medical slump, so I sold a buuuuuuunch off to help them right away. So I figured I could get ‘em back, and then some! I’ve been lovin’ that Kuso since the first day you posted it! Those colors are so wonderful, and I love the flat, dry paints. What’s the vinyl base?
Oooooooh, damn. That is a NICE green. Now that I’ve seen it, the green in the paints visually feel genius.
Continuing with my current rise of receiving greatness: My first Gamerudon!!! Spoiler My first Haiji!!! Spoiler
Nice thread recommendation Robert, and some great pics. Enjoyed reviewing a bunch of old TE posts and seeing posts from folk I haven't crossed paths with in a while. Also, had not come across Haiji before. When was he released?
@AgentRavage @Mutonismyfriend Sadly, I have no information at all on the Haiji. I first saw the sculpt from @bansheebot and have been waiting quite some time for one to come up! Very cool and ghostly sculpt! Has a vey mutated yokai feel. Perhaps John can pop in on his free time and give a little insight! I’m glad you enjoyed the thread, Carl! I visit these pages quite often, just to marvel at sculpts and versions I’ve yet to acquire. But I have come up on quite a bit as of late!
