I'm starting to think like this now: if anything the Bruins won the cup in my lifetime. Something I was begging for since the Neely, Bourque days. There are no real dynasties in hockey anymore, and you literally could wait your whole life for your team to get into the cup, let alone win it. While of course I want to see them win and go all the way, I won't be on my deathbed thinking damn they never won!
ugh...Nabby. I've had to watch that guy for years. Still wanted the Isles to advance cause I know Nabby would totally choke. So far, it's looking like the Wings will win but there's still 1 more period to go.
Love Teemu but I can't stand Getzlaf and the Ducks, really pulling for Detroit to pull out this game seven! If they do that Kings /Sharks matchup will be quite a battle. Ottawa is going to be a problem for the Pens. I still think they'll win but it might go the distance. Man tomorrow I'm get shit faced before the Bruins play!
I have a lot of friends that are Wings fans so I gotta go with the Ducks just to annoy them. On the other hand, it would be great to have the Hawks and Wings play for another Original 6 series. I'm glad the Sharks are playing the Kings cause if it was against the Blues, I don't think the Sharks would advance. It should definitely be a good series. Not sure what's going on with Pavs but he's lost the puck a few times that have lead to either goals or scoring chances. It funny how the Canucks were complaining about the Sharks embellishing when they are one of the best at it a few years ago. They make soccer players look like amateurs.
Wow...for a moment there, I thought the Ducks were going to force OT again. The end of the Caps/Rangers game was something else. The big brawl and if you watch Lundquist, he's just skating around and you can almost hear him say "Yeah!"
OK about to commence operation drink to ensure victory, if it fails I'll be too blitzed to give a shit. I hope the real Bruins show up tonight, you know those guys right? The team that never let the other teams have the puck, crush every opposing powerplay, physically impose their will on teams by making them scared to go into corners for pucks, tons of breakaway passing plays etc.... On the flip I really hope the Rangers beat the Caps if the Bruins win, otherwise (if Bruins lose) I'm going with the Caps because they need to stop the Pens if Ottawa can't.
It is certainly shaping up to be a decent game 7. The Bruins have brought their physical game, and surprised to see the Leafs responding as well as they are. I think this one might just come down to a lucky bounce or cheese shot for either team.
Crazy indeed. I did not see that coming, though obviously the Bruins were pressing hard continuously. I still cannot fathom how Dion the pilon gets any ice time, let alone so much. What is he, -43 now? Just terrible.
Was rooting for the underdog (because Toronto as a city totally rocks so I would have liked its people to have a few more days of fun) but I have so many friends who are rooting for the Bruins... Happy for you Chris.
Holy FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!! Wow.......I'm without speech. Probably just lost my voice screaming. Thanks Oli. You know I think if the Habs beef up a little, and get Price a better back up... They'll be right back on top. So Bruins Rangers.... interesting. I like the Bruins odds better then if they played the Caps.
Wow...what just happen. The Bruins come back and the Rangers slaughtered the Caps. This is turning up to be a really great play-off season.
Sharks might not be able to win the series. With Torres out, they lack grit (nothing new really). I don't think they'll pull it off if they don't play better in front of Niemi.
Well, good on Ottawa to at least hold the Pens back some to make it tight. It would have been really nice to see them steal one from them at home, and they came close, but just too many penalties and the lack of scoring Ottawa has always had this season (except against Montreal of course ).
I haven't been watching the game but good on the Bruins. I hope Spezza's return sparks some of that for Ottawa tonight too, but the guy's been out for four months now, I am not expecting fireworks.
Double overtime, intense. Pittsburgh is obviously bringing offence, but this could have easily been Ottawa's game so many times tonight - all they need is a fortunate bounce or actual shot to get through, they really seem to not be able to buy a goal tonight, in spite of open nets and chances around to put it away.
