Can I just say that Jagr's beard is perfectly symetric. The grey and dark looks like he dyed it to make it look that perfect. Also see you next week Jags!
Here's whats coming your way Vokoun (just a friendly ribbing!): Krug has one wicked accurate slapshot! Chara & Boychuck can also put some velocity on that puck.
So who's watching the Hawks vs Wings game fucking 7 tonight? I can't believe the Wings last game giving up that lead like that. Hopefully they'll prevail tonight. Sharks kind of got run over by the Kings last night. Seems like they just gave up after a bit. In other news Torts got the pink slip...no surprise there.
Damn oh well... So this is pretty interesting: The final 4 teams are the last 4 Stanley Cup winners. Pittsburgh 2009, Chicago 2010, Boston 2011, Los Angeles 2012.
Originally I thought yeah whoever wins the Pens vs Bruins series should go all the way, but after watching LA last night? How aggressively they forechecked, got to loose pucks, combined with Quick in goal? I don't know. Chicago has people that can score, a little grit, but can Crawford keep everything out of the net? Pens vs Bruins is going to be high octane offense vs great forechecking D. In the west both teams seem almost evenly matched from what I've seen.
Yeah...Sharks fail, and it's not cause Pavs didn't get the puck off the ice (which is what a lot of my friends are talking about). People seem to forget that Pavs probably has the most points in the post season for the Sharks, and Couture will only get better (although I think he will hit his peak in the next couple of seasons and become a very consistent player...but not a 50 goal scorer). It was a great series to watch and Quick was the main reason the Kings won. I thought the Wings might pull off the win but the opposite has been happening compared to what I say so...no more predictions for me This post season is so much better than last years!
Mullets galore! I really don't know what to do with myself today waiting for the games to start! I keep thinking I wish I could nap till 5. Big event is 8pm though. Here's something I'm watching to kill time. Beware of super mullets! 1991 Wales Conference Finals Game 2 Bruins vs Pens: Neely, Bourque, Lemieux, Jagr....
If so, that does not bode well (for them). Going to be interesting to see how this series starts off.
It's going to be a long series. I'm under no delusion it will be a cake walk for either team. I really thought the Bruins would blow it trying to get into a run and gun with the Pens with just a one goal lead. They settled down though and played their game, and really got the Pens frustrated. Crosby poking Rask with the stick and challenging Chara was a bad move, then Malkin fighting? Where have we seen this before? With the Flyers last year. I agree with the call on Cooke but I also think Marchand should have got the same for his hit on Neal.
I missed all of that. Cooke is like a little boy though. He can play great, but when he get too excited he has no control. I would be okay with him being benched for a game or two just to settle him down. Malkin also needs to calm down and play his game. See you next game!
Damn, looks like this series might just surprise some people. You must be feelin' a bit good (in spite of the stress) Lixx.
Just put the kids to bed, thought of turning on the tv (well, the internet) but am wondering if it's worth it anymore.
All I have to say if your a Pens fan is: you got a real problem in goal. Not to take away from the Bruins though, they are making pin point precision passes and putting on a clinic.
wth...i go to the bathroom when it was 2-0 and come out and it is now 4-1. I swear I wasn't in there for that long...
Goal is not our only problem. I haven't seen much anything good from the Pens. The Bruins are almost perfect right now.
The talent on Boston doesn't come as a shock, I am just surprised it has been so one-sided thus far. It doesn't appear Boston is doing an amazing job of shutting them down, it's just like Pittsburgh isn't showing up like we are used to (or they are capable of).
Wow, I didn't even think it would go like that! 6-1 against the mighty Pens to take a 2-0 series lead? Seems like more of a dream than reality. Bruins just have to keep playing a full 60, not let up, control the tempo, survive the first 10 minutes of each game (when the Pens usually are in over drive), be patient with the puck with precision passing, and continue to forecheck. Steve the Bruins are doing a really good job of shutting them down. Active sticks, not blowing coverage, and defensive support. Pens are showing up but they are getting frustrated. Rask has been pretty good in net.
Sorry, didn't mean to take anything away from the Bruins' effort, I just meant it didn't seem to be so much of a hard battle, as to more that Pitts was just stymied and wasn't getting it together. Full marks to the B's, being an objective viewer I just don't like to see blow-outs on either side.
