got the season 2 dvd's the other day and thanks to closed captioning and the ability to rewind T Dogg's real name is... Theodore Douglas. yeah pointless but I found it amusing
One thing disappointing about the upcoming season is they're skipping over WINTER completely. I read somewhere when we pick up with the group that it will be a few months later. As the cold played a role in the comics I was sort of looking forward to them having to overcome that obstacle but it's not to be....
Hey it's a one man thread and I'm the only one in it I don't care if everyone else gave up on the show, still more entertaining than most of the shit out there. Shame that Shane had to die but this season has promise- with the prison, governor, and everyone's disgust with not enough action last year that I hear they're going nuts with kills this year etc. Anyone else watching tonight?
I'll watch it. I'm disappointed in how unexcited I am, though. On the other hand I have a feeling that this season will redeem the series ... the current producers are well aware of the criticisms. Shane was probably the most compelling character so hopefully there will be some sort of compensation.
I read somewhere that the first 5 minutes of the episode 1 of season 3 will have zero dialogue and a whole lot of killing! That kind of intrigues me. Yeah Shane (despite his whole Lori obsession downfall) for awhile was the most thinking survivor among the group.
I'm still pumped for the start of season 3. When I look at that character list, I really just wonder what they are going to do with T. Dogg. I can't associate him with any key moment in the show, save for the literal key incident in the beginning. Hopefully he sees more development in season 3. I guess I didn't care for Shane that much. He just seemed to exist to give Rick grief without actually doing anything about it. If he had taken more of a leadership role, playing, if you will, the Grimlock to Rick's Optimus Prime (or Wolverine to Rick's Cyclops), I think I would have enjoyed his character more. Granted they were constrained by the comics, but as it stands, I don't feel like season 3 will lack anything with his absence.
Literally just got caught up with season 2 . . . looking forward to seeing more of Michonne and the pets as soon as someone uploads it!
The irony is that I don't get back from NYCC until after it airs and that was the main(non toy of course) attraction. I am looking forward to the prison not sure how the governor will come across though.
i enjoyed season 2 and i don't mind that Shane got morted i thought the CDC episode from season 1 was too rushed, it could have benefited from being spread out over two or three episodes looking forward to more
enjoyed last night's episode (except the karaoke). were these characters singing last season ? seemed like filler.
I knew I was going to hate that singing bit, thankfully it was very short. Overall that episode topped everything from last season combined. I didn't think I'd like the fact that they advanced the story 6 months ahead and skipped winter, but now I see it was actually really good for the current storyline. The characters are so hardened and desensitized. No whining (well except Lori but she always whines). I really hope they do more with T-Dog this year and he just doesn't become zombie fodder eventually. He's a good character and the actor who plays him makes the most out of his limited (so far) lines.
I hate to pick apart the show but it is really hard for me to believe there is anything alive (read as: not undead) in the prison.
psilo about the prison and people surviving in it (and please read this as me in explanatory mode not condescending ok?- because I'm just trying to see where you are as far as the series TV vs Comic)- Did you read the comic at all? Because in the comic: Spoiler The few prisoner survivors bunkered down in an area where they had access to the pantry or food supply. Since it was only 4 of them in the comic, they had a huge supply of food. Place was crawling with undead but I believe they managed to be in area that was clear- or they cleared. For this reason (supplies) and the protection element is mainly why Rick & Co want to move in. It could work (surviving), given the number of people and supplies.
Something tells me T-Dog and Merle have a dance date in their future.. and I haven't read the comics neither. Shit's gonna be epic. Even the zombies are gonna pull over and grab some popcorn for that one..
I have not read the comic because I am certain it will make me hate the show =P thank you for the explanation tho.
saw the entire first 2 seasons a few days prior to the premier and gotta say this season is gonna be killer!!
that first ep was fun. Im going to hold off for a few weeks and watch a bunch of them at once. Breaking bad has most of my attention these days.
