Worst dialogue had to be when the Governor arrives and wants to talk to Rick. Instead of normal reactions like: "This fucking psycho again?!" Rick says it's not up to me anymore, we got a council now. Just seemed way too wordy and not a natural reaction. Like the writers needed to yet again reinforce Rick is the reluctant leader. Enough already, we get it! Then of course we go into Rick speak when he starts talking to the Governor. You know: "I'm mad"- eye fuck the camera. "I'm bringing the point home"-lean into camera and maybe raise your hand, or "I'm befuddled" - look around and squint

Good action, poor human interaction. I'm still watching.

Why Team Prison didn't immediately unload all of their clips into the Governor when he shows up on their doorstep is beyond me.

Ha ha yeah, Andrew Lincoln is starting to make Charlie Hunnam look like a decent actor. My favorite part of the prison raid was Rick hiding behind the bus (wounded, nonetheless) and the Governor and his guys just walking past it. Team Guv's use of the tank was also hilariously inept, randomly blowing holes into their new home...

the more i think about it, the more I have to ask.

Why didn't the governor behead Michonne as opposed to Hershel to prove his point? Wouldn't have been the logical thing to do right?

Logistically they have to keep Michonne alive for season(s) to come, but was there reason within the show or did Hershel happen to just be closest to the Gov?

I can't stop thinking about the mutilator in the prison. At first I was sure it was one of the little girls but now i'm convinced its the singing daughter. I'm thinking she left the baby out (i'm so glad there where no zombie in the act of eating baby scenes) cause she resented taking care of it.

you've heard the songs... she has to be psycho.

edit... I think he picked the old guy because he was in the group longer and would hurt the others more, probably saving Michone for some torture type revenge

the last episode highlights were all about the kids:

when the dumb mom let her daughter play by herself was just foreshadowing her inevitable death

when the prison girls killed that buff looking santa claus extra was great, like child soldiers.

it's been predictable thus far but still so fun to watch.

This article on the Walking Dead with fans on both sides of the equation of the show debating pretty much sums it all up for me (obviously I'm completely with Ryan regarding WD):

    http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2013 ... discussion

    Fave two quotes:

"This show is basically like asking fans to ride along in a car full of annoying children for miles and miles in hope of seeing something really cool out the window." and "There are so many unmined storylines from those books that could easily be plucked, elongated, repurposed, and all of them would be a hell of a lot better than what's going on this season."

I kind of wished I never read the comics, because having all that knowledge of events in your head and then watching the show sets you up for disappointment. Well that and getting rid of Darabont and Shane.

he def had something 'special' for michonne.

he also knew be-heading Hershel in front of the group would be a huge blow..

very sad episode, but still good nonetheless

I'm glad somebody else was thinking this...
For that scene to cut without seeing the actual headshot, one can only surmise that AMC is gonna milk the Governer's character for all they can :| I lost more of my dwindling respect for the show the minute Michonne just smirked and walked away from the dying Gov...

My bet is that they're saving his death for a big season finale. With 8 more episodes to build up the hype for a more cathartic (and gruesome) end to this villian, AMC is certainly gunning to top the 12.1 million viewers the last episode drew in.

I really hope this isn't the case, and will be happy if proven wrong.

From what I heard on Talking Dead (yeah i watched it  ) is that they made the hero's death as gruesome as possible but the villain's as unsatisfying as possible, which is why they gave the final killshot to his new love rather than to his old nemisis. So based on the way they talked about the governor, it does look like he's dead but with an unsatisfying death.

The logic behind that thought process escapes me, but glad to hear if indeed true.

In the end it took half of this season to give us a proper ending for last season. It was a waste because it should have happened long before the same way. They wasted half of last season if not more on that joke of a character Andrea. With little exception they just do everything too damn slow. Hang out at the farm for half a season too long. Hang out at the prison for a season and a half too long. Now they toss in red shirt cannon fodder characters for every shootout just to add drama and death rather then letting anything really happen to the people we are interested in. This whole show could be a couple of amazing seasons. But it's just a bunch of just okay seasons.

I absolutely hate Chris Hardwick. He's the kind of guy I'd just like to punch if I ever saw him. Such a tool. So you'll never catch me watching Talking Dead. :D

As far as milking WD, AMC has done this ever since Darabont left. He left because of AMC's budget cuts after making WD a hit for them. They don't really write the show to show progression or character development. AMC just stretches everything out. They come up with a main plot and maybe 1 or 2 subplots- randomly tie in some poorly timed iconic moments from the comics (i.e Tyreese hammering swarms of zombies in the gym goes to Tyreese hammering swarms of zombies getting out of the car) and force the action to centralized location (i.e prison, Woodbury, farm) because they want to get the most mileage out of making the show look good with nice sets. That's the formula.

Well watching that scene again the camera is very obviously showing his perspective as though you're looking through his eyes. And the gun is pointed basically between his eyes when the trigger is pulled. So I think he's done.

Are we SURE that baby's dead? My point being, a zombie can't undo a fucking car seat. The baby's body, or many parts of it, would still be there. Not just some blood. I'm thinking they wimped out and that baby's alive. I'm thinking someone who was bleeding took her (Michone? Gov's Nurse Girly? Maybe even Carol lurking?)

I assumed killing H-dog was he was a bigger loss to the prison group, hence that choice.

Those kids, despite leaving a baby to die (possibly) popping caps took it. I bet they hook up with Carol and Rick's baby and have a weird, murderous Peter Pan group going.

I'm slightly happy with how the Gov turned out. His attack wasn't out of being a TOTAL ass. He had a legit reason, it was just rushed.

Also, hey, I'm afraid of zombies to the point of getting anxious when I see one across the river. But I let my kid play in the mud 40 feet away while no one's watching her and the whole group of trained zombie killers are gone. Idiot. Or more likely, unrealistic. Why weren't they huddled up in the camper waiting for return? What if the Gov lost and the other group left and found and killed them? Like, her motivation made no sense.

The Gov's dead for sure, Lily was also the one to kill him in the comic for essentially the same reason. It was so satisfying watching that little girl get eaten for some reason, am I alone here lol? I'm assuming the baby is dead too bc the baby dies in the comic during the 2nd attack but I guess AMC couldn't show a baby getting shot in the face. And for those that don't know, that's when Lorie originally dies too, carrying the baby running out of the prison, they both get shot. Tyrese get's his head chopped off in the comic instead of Herschel but Herschel dies during the attack anyway. As glad as I am that Andrea got killed off earlier, it's kinda strange bc she is Rick's current love interest in the books (unless she's died now too, I'm behind a few issues). All in all not a bad mid season finale. I was pretty bored all season long but then I started binge watching them again & it's so much better that way. I didn't realize the Gov's story picked up right where they left him until I rewatched it. Excited for the new eps, a lot of crazy shit to come, hopefully they'll use some of it. Now I wanna finish reading those last few issues. viva la .cbr!

PSSS if anyone is interested in reading digital version of the comics, I have all of them PM me

Thank you, Lixx. That's the same reason I refused to to watch TD or Talking Bad. Chris Hardwick and his shit-eating grin. Well that, and my dislike of the whole post-show discussion formula.
I know podcasts have been doing it for years, but AMC's jumping on the bandwagon with the televised post show discussion (as a pure grab for ratings) is just too transparent for my tastes.

Not alone at all... Despite the ridiculousness of that mud zombie trapped beneath her, I too was morbidly pleased to see the girl get bit
I'm glad the Gov's demise at least somewhat coincided with the comics (that I haven't read yet).
Thanks for the offer, kroker. I'd love to take you up on it.

I just hate how he asserts himself as "king of the nerds". Go back to 1995 and MTV's Singled Out for crying out loud! Worst interviewer also how he gushes over everyone. I know most of those questions are probably scripted and written by AMC, but his whole self deprecation act just unnerves me. Talking Dead is just AMC orgasming all over itself for no reason. It's feels like a bad MTV show come to think of it!

I'll chime in and say I'm also glad the kid bought it! As twisted and appealing as Jeff's murderous Peter Pan kid group is, I want them all pretty much gobbled up by zombies (and actually shown) in the worst way! Especially Carl (but I know that won't happen).

awww man, baby got bit and Michonne is now carrying it in a baby bjorn for some zombie potpourri

    edit,
and I agree that they couldn't have undone the seatbelt, thats why I think that Hershels daughter ditched the thing cause she's all messed up in the head. Thinking that it was Ricks fault that her dad died so his daughter had to die... who knows

I was thinking the same haha.

I know the baby dies in the comic but again, how'd it get out of the car seat in the show?

Meh I guess I shouldn't give the writers of this show credit enough to think of that if they won't even consider the fact that antibiotics do nothing against virus's and that they had no idea what these sick people had and not all antibiotics work against all bacterial infections and blah blah blah. All it would have taken to pacify me is someone saying "It MIGHT not work because....but we have to try" but that was like 4 episodes back so I'm letting the poor writing go.
