Went down one of the most disturbing YouTube holes of my life the other night.

^Two of the many videos that continue to haunt me.

I have quite a lot of those actually.

I knew some (a lot) of these collectors could get pretty strange/disturbing. It's been a while, but I think I've seen far more unsettling behavior on the Den of Angels forum. This is the first time I've witnessed it in moving technicolor, as it were, though. i had a moment of panic when it looked like the girl in the second vid was going to give her new guy a kiss at about 10:20. I do not know these people! Also did anyone else notice that the "small" breast size in the first one was still pretty huge? Particularly considering they're of Asian origin?

Seriously, though, David, I'm so glad I could spark this new interest in your young heart ;) My work is done here.

As a sofubi collector with probably over 1000 sofubi "dolls" I find ball joint dolls weird and disturbing. Then I realize they are probably 1 stop further out than sofubi on the weird train, and have to wonder how non toy collectors would view us if exposed to this board a video on sofubi collectors.

Really? I do find some of the dolls disturbing, and a lot of the collectors' behavior weird, but a lot of these dolls I find (or found) aesthetically pretty pleasing. I mean, there's almost always some element of creepiness in any doll, but I don't know... different tastes, I guess.
Well, sofubi depicts a pretty wide variety of stuff, so I think there's plenty of it that's weirder/more disturbing than your average BJD, and plenty that's less so, too.

I realize most, if not all, of you guys use this thread to share recent deliveries, but considering the flack I've been taking lately, it's probably better to share something that I got in the post and have had for awhile, rather than not share anything. So, enjoy a couple tanks. I thought I had a third around, but damned if I can locate it.

Very nice. The StuG's one of my personal favorites after seeing one in person rolling around an airfield.

I did not know the name of that tank, so thank you for clarifying! StuG's still are my favorite though.

Spied these little guys on my shelf and realized I hadn't noticed them in awhile. I actually can't recall who made these, all I remember is the guy had some association with Glyos and that's how I found him. I think they're pretty cool.

Since we're talking about Glyos (er, since I am, rather), I might as well post my meager Glyos collection. i didn't really get into it because if your not interchanging the parts and building stuff it looses a lot of it's appeal. That large piece in the back I think is called The Rig, and its a pretty cool hunk of vinyl. You can rotate the pieces around so it looks like a robot, or a ship or whatever, Then there's the thing that's basically just two cubes stacked on top of each other. I forget how much they charged for that but I had to have one.

Technically only one of them came in the mail, but yesterday was a banner day at the ol' Begley house.

You related to Ed, by any chance?

And those almost have to be Stretch Armstrongs, although I haven't seen them since I was a kid. I swear I have a memory of one being cut open one time and the stuff inside was red. Like a red jelly. Not sure why that would be, though. Maybe it's one of those false memories or something.

Those are some pretty great Stretches, Mark. I think I prefer them with their cloth pants on, but those are pretty shiny and mint looking. Now (the important question is) how long will they stay that way?

These are reissues actually. Go to your local Target and pick up one or two!! I have a wonderfully sad childhood story about never having a Stretch, so this is a big fricking deal for me. I'm so excited to have him.

I do want some cloth shorts though. And also a wrestling mask like some of the Japanese Mister Xs had. And a cape!

I think I have wished this could be a thing since I was a kid. (you can replace Target with Kaybee Toys, Toy 'r us, etc....) The stuff of dreams, I tell you

@toothaction - as far as the horrible and dark recesses of hollywood and its obsession with reboots and making franchises out of nostalgic random bits out of the 70s and 80s, this is far from the worst thing they could come up with

Yeah, I don't care about the show and movie tie-ins one way or another. They're going to do the same thing with Micronauts. All I know is I finally gots me a Stretch Armstrong, and in about three days I'll be able to order a Micronauts Pharoid like the one I had as a kid.

So, I was Googling around to see if my memories of Stretch's innards were accurate, and apparently he was filled with a kind of modified corn syrup, but the only info I could find about the actual color was anecdotal and contradictory, ranging from "honey colored" , "clearish liquid" to "red jelly".

Not sure if this particular commenter was pulling everyone's leg:
I did find an interesting article about a guy working for the Consumer Product Safety Commission who was ran a scam where he issued recall on Stretch Armstrong toys solely so he could get his hands on one without having to go through the trouble of hunting one down or having to pay paying exorbitant prices. Brilliant, really.

These are figures by NiStuff. They're part of his 481 Universe and are called Anomalies. These were his first production figures before making a Glyos-compatible Outlander figure.

Oh, yeah, that's right. It's been a while. Coincidentally, before posting that pic I Googled "glyos collaboration" to see if I could find the creator's name and the first link after the Onell blog was a link back here (a thread about a RealxHead collaboration). Not sure if Google is just giving me links it thinks I want at this point or what...

And I did somehow remember one of them was called Ancient Astronaut, because I tried to Google that (to no avail).

    Thanks for the info!

You're welcome. I have a few of the dudes from over the years too.

"Glyos collab" will probably pull up a ton of various projects since their joint system was used a lot for several lines. The RxH crossover of the Chaos Invasion Custom Corps was one of the best series ever. I have a few from that series too. Great stuff.

Oh, yeah, I know a bunch of various folks made use of the system or whatever. That was the first time I'd heard of the RxH crossover, though. Wasn't expecting that one. Pretty cool.

I gotta say, the 'like' button is coming in handy just scrolling past these walls of text and seeing neat images and allowing for a quick nod to the boardie.
