Recently got turned on to Nasty and No Zodiac. Incredibly heavy and pissed off albums. Force of Change is just a good ol' Strife ripoff band, but I love it. Still wish Dave had As Hope Dies together, though.
As a bartender and a drinker, this song has been speaking to me lately. Been a Billy Childish fan for a very long time...
Now this is a great album. Ibiza is a classic, but Sasha's GU San Fran is hands-down my fave of the series. Nick Warren's GU Lima was stellar as far as recent one's go. Speaking of which, it seems about time a new GU should be in the works, as its been a while since the last... You've got some good taste on the old school prog house tip Edgar, too bad most of the new stuff is garbage The Balance compilations have managed to stay pretty strong. Pick up Nick Warren's if you don't already have it. GU 13 Sasha Ibiza
Crap I hate when I get on a Stereolab kick. Nothing else will substitute for their sound! For me though it's only about Peng!, Switched On, Transient Random Noise Bursts with Announcements, Space Age Bachelor Music, maybe a song or two from Mars Audiac Quintet, and a handful of early singles. So I guess before 1995? After that ehhhhh... 'Tone Burst' might be the ultimate driving song on a highway: Anyone else ever have trouble importing Transient Random Noise Bursts to iTunes? My computer hates that disc and spins it endlessly (and it's not scratched at all)
^^ well then here is some precursor for you! have you guys listened to Monade? side project of Lætitia Sadier and something else
Ha! Wayne you're not the only one! When I used to have marathon FOTC sessions I would always end up humming their songs. This one happened to be very infectious. I got on a Primal Scream kick this week. Previously I only ever really listened to Screamadelica and maybe a few other tracks, BUT I'm finding I really like Xtrmntr and not just the MBV remix on the LP. I especially like 'Kill All Hippies' and this great tune 'Shoot Speed/Kill Light':
Really like that track ^ her voice is lovely, a very well crafted song. I was feeling the Northern Soul vibe from Detroit today
Been a while since i've heard new rap that i've enjoyed as much as this. https://gorgeouschildren.bandcamp.com/album/gorgeous-children
