Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! Thanks! If you'd like to see more of my sculptures, you can check out my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/AWMCMCG4G/videos Oh yeah, the Super Final Premium is a big one! Also, as Venture pointed out, that is the Shogun Warriors Rodan Thanks, I also enjoy finding new collections I've never seen before! I found this board looking for an original Bullmark Megalon (I'm also looking for MechaGodzilla) and ran across an old discussion on him here, and just started exploring and it was cool looking at everyone's collections and seeing other vinyl monsters that I've never seen before. I also liked seeing so many vintage and vintage-styled figures in the collections. So many of the other Godzilla forums that I visit have collectors that seem to be mostly interested in the newer stuff with only a couple people that appreciate the vintage pieces. Yeah, I'm definitely not new to collecting I've been getting Godzilla figures since I was 4 or 5 years old, so I've been collecting about 20 years now.
The main reason I enjoy seeing massive collections is that I can show my wife and go: "See! Mine is tiny!" (Yes, this was all an excuse for an obvious "that's what she said" joke)
Your sculpting skills (via YouTube) are incredible. That scratch-built 54 Godzilla diorama looks like a factory issued piece. Amazing! Is that just a hobby or is it your profession?
Thank you! Currently it is just a hobby. I've always loved drawing since I was young, but sculpting is something I just picked up recently for fun around 4 years ago. I wanted to create the video game monsters that had not been made for my collection. But, now I'm really enjoying it and I'd like to get into doing sculpting professionally as well. I just recently graduated with a degree in Art and Technology, which encompasses making graphics and animation. I'm currently making a Godzilla video game (its nothing official, just something fan-made that I created myself) that will be available to play at G-Fest in July. Here's a trailer of the game which shows some of the Kaiju that will be playable in the game: Click to watch trailer Also you can play the demo of the game on the link below: Click to Play Thank you again for all of the comments
Muh man, you could have your own sb section I've really enjoyed looking over all of your work. As what brought you here, I think there are multi-facets of skullbrain that you'll find helpful, exciting, & engaging.
I just checked the game and the opponents can be defeated, so I don't know what happened when you played. I did notice there's a fan art section so I may start up my own thread there for the game and sculptures! I don't want to throw this thread off topic I'm glad you enjoyed everything!
there may have been a small sliver of energy left on the other guy. lol sorry, i guess i'm just a sore loser. Great job on the game.
Wish I was going to be there Stop by the Nakama Toys booth and say hello to the rest of my crew though!
Man, next time that Rodan goes up here in AU I'm buying it, cracked wing lock or not. It's heaps bigger than I thought. I've always known it was rare, especially here. Do you have the giant 9ft inflatable Godzilla? Don't know who makes it but we had one in my store years ago and I think it was the 70s era Godzilla.
I don't think I've done this before, so here goes. There are a couple things not in the cabinets, such as my mockbat, but that's just because I use toys as inspiration while I'm painting, and my Detolfs are in the bedroom. Anyways, here goes... I have 2 more shelves, 1 is filled with my wife's western toys, and the other is dedicated to Jack Kirby's "The New Gods" and Marvel Zombies.
Thanks guys, I'm pretty OCD about my Display organization, but I've noticed while cleaning the shelves yesterday, that from my micro Hujilli, to my Ollies, every toy feels important, and all give me joy. I think the most important part of collecting these things, is to be able to have fun with them. If you have a full collection of Hype, in bags, you never get to play. I like being able to toss them around, because in reality we're all adults just trying to recapture a part of our youth.
Was cleaning my shelves today, took a picture of almost everything I have. Missing some rxh cats and some figures I can't show
Not the whole collection but all the super fav's Just bought a house and it has a sweet old school built in display. Never have I had all my Matango in one display!
