Fuuuck I need an "agent" in Japan. This is cool, I do like Bemon "regular" more but shit, I don't have one of those either. Very cool though.

From a distance it looks ok but from the closeups I've seen elsewhere I'm unimpressed.

Another type of pollution monster would be great from the mind of CK.
Like the Bemon though, I do like how CK is creating another figure pulling from the past, that never really existed other than in printed form. Especially a creature from the classic FM magazine that I grew up on.

Same company. The Cosmo Knight fella (don't recall his name, he's in the S7 Tokyo Underground book)
I believe is the sole proprietor of the his shop and Bemon/Longneck line. Not sure if he sculpts or hands off designs to factory or not. Hopefully someone has more info...

I don't know about sculpting, but I'm pretty sure he does the HP Bemons himself (basing this off him having bottles of V Color sitting around the shop).

my info:
ck shop owner yoda sold bemons,
whilst his friend mr. h created/handpainted em,
but guess this is totally wrong.

come on S7 clear things up!!! ...thanks

Not trying to be contrary because I can see how you would get that impression, but I think he's actually a pretty nice guy. Maybe just a little shy? Sometimes I'll go in there and he really won't say anything, but he's usually really friendly and nice. I would say his store is a little overpriced (compared with places like Ichibanboshi), but he still has some TIGHT stuff in there if you dig around a little.

i dunno, i was there with someone else from skullbrain who tried to talk to him and he just seemed like a total dickhead. other people have said similar things. store didn't have anything good when i was there but i'm sure that's not always the case. i'm actually curious how he stays open really, his store is tiny in the middle of ekoda (which is really in the middle of nowhere) and i'm guessing he wouldn't have many people visit every day. surely he can't be making enough bank on bemon alone?

on the flip side, every other dude i met at a toy store in tokyo were some of the nicest people ever.

I also have a feeling that the Bemon/Longneck stuff is a big part of how he stays in business, but I don't really know.

I'm definitely with you that he's certainly not as gregarious as someone like Mori (who is?), but I've never seen him be a total jerk to anyone, either. I'm also a die-hard optimist, though, so that might have something to do with it...

bemond/longneck must have a pretty big following then? i am always way underestimating or overestimating stuff, but i have no idea how niche or big the kaiju/vinyl scene is over there even after visiting a bunch of stores. not related but like i thought supreme was pretty popular but when i visited/saw the pics from the 10 year anniverary at daikanyama i was blown away. 300 people lining up 5hrs before doors open.

ps i think tokyo underground says he is 'stoic' or some shit too haha. i will give him props for having the bald head look down pat!

I think when you're working retail and have to deal with the public every day it's only a matter of time until you become a complete dick. Customers can be some of the most frustrating folks on the planet.

I hope that I never frustrate any of my favorite retailers with anything other than bringing them business and spending my hard earned money at their establishment...

Hmm, so the relevance of the old spiked-ball Bemon keychain becomes clear.

I am assuming that the keychain isn't included with this figure as it was always sold separately in the past.
And that it was just added for this display. Maybe I'm wrong.

Looks like it's inside the bag in this picture. Cool toy, I'd like more smog monsters but I guess there are only so many unproduced monsters to choose from.
