 Re: what happened to eLOCO?
I don't have any information about the eloco situation, but it's NEVER a good idea to ever let a buyer use a 3rd party pay for anything you're selling.
There are a number of ways having a 3rd party pay for things that can be turned into a scam.
- Scammer offers to buy an item from Seller.
- Scammer asks if it's okay if he can use Significant Other's PP account to pay for item.
- Seller says okay, and ships item to Scammer.
- Significant Other files a complaint that they never received item for which they paid.
- Seller has no proof that they sent item to Significant Other because item was shipped to Scammer. (because they probably have different shipping addresses)
- With no proof of shipping to Significant Other, PP can do a chargeback and refund the money back, so they end up with the item and the money.
- Seller has little to no recourse.
I got burned on a scam over some Oakley sunglasses on eBay, and that's how they burned me.

 Re: what happened to eLOCO?
When accepting Paypal payments, I only ship to the address listed in the Paypal transaction and make sure it says "confirmed." That way I have some level of protection in case something goes wrong.
(Everybody go into your Paypal account right now and confirm that address if it isn't already!)

 Re: what happened to eLOCO?
im gonna guess cause it isnt HIS name on the confirmed address so we can revert back to the lessons above of not taking $ from 3rd parties - man this all turned to shit and I hope the few of us effected dont get wrecked from it

 Re: what happened to eLOCO?
3rd party payment happen all the time -- it all depends on whether or not you know the person or if others do. In this case, the question comes up as to whether or not eLoco is willing to cover the charges that his girlfriend disputes. Unfortunately, since he has no voice here, he cannot post to stand up for his conduct or otherwise. I'm curious why he was not just banned from buying and selling? Seems harsh to cast him out of the board -- but then again, few people know all the facts and there may be good reasons to do so. Ultimately, it is S7's decision and their board.
Does anyone have his personal email to ask him about any of this?

Once I took a third party payment from someone on Skullbrain because I "knew" this person as a fellow user there, but really had no other contact with them beyond PMs on the board. After the sale, a couple of threads popped up about how others were having problems resolving transactions with that person. I considered myself lucky, but that was the last time I did it.

Just for the record, I never told anyone to "shut the fuck up", any my only point was that the moethod of dribbling this information out sucked and created more drama than need be. A huge thank you to Pogue for setting the record straight.

Since the store was involved, I am gathering that perhaps some of his charges were disputed by the rightful owners of said CCs? I agree though. Either tell the whole story or don't mention it at all. The 'I've got a secret!' routine is tiresome.

Anyway do or say what you will but S7 seems to be handling this in a responsible fashion, they don't deserve to get shit about it.
