this was a new one for me, too. a couple figures in the show were hollow roto-cast resin. so light, so cool...

spencer's miigii there is about 8" tall by 6" wide and probably weighs under 2 lbs - and some are much lighter, as this one has resin dripping inside.

Were they very brittle?

spencer's figures are totally durable, not brittle at all.

this figure is much thinner, more like an egg shell, and weighs only a few ounces, but still seems quite durable

I stumbled upon guys rotocasting resin a while back on YouTube. Pretty cool shit, most of them use hand made machines. Here's one vid, there are quite a few more if you search.

Spencer is a Hibert, and all them damn Hiberts (incl. Oliver, Arbito, and Snaggs) are ridiculously talented mother fuckers. I believe he had those guys available a couple years back.

Spencer told me that he rotocasts by hand, and I think he said he has the process down to an hour now.

Jason,

When I came into the store for the first time, I asked if there was anything coming up. You mentioned a sale, but this is the news I was looking for. Can't wait. PUT ME DOWN!

Thanks, man. The resin show was a HUGE highlight for the shop last year. I've been thinking of doing a follow-up this year since there are so many awesome new resins being made.. just have to get time to make it happen.

Well, if you ever need any help putting on a show, etc. Let me know. Will give me a chance to put those skills I acquired working all those years in Hollywood to good use.

You heading to Soyal Opening?
