Decided to do a step-by-step documentation of setting this amazing guy together. Hope you guys enjoy the antics!

Honestly, having this guy in hand, I actually love him even more than I did initially (and I didn't think that was possible!). One of the best toys I have, and I feel the quintessential fun that is Japanese sofubi. Incidentally, did anyone actually assemble the lightsaber? Even with a lot of glue, I can see mine not coming together all that great, so I just left it for now.

Trooper. hell yeah. the OG Darth colourway still looks fresh. wonder when the online shop doors will re-open for another drop.

I just got the black robo viceroy vader guy... and the gold paint is rubbing right off onto my fingers.

Normal, the paint they used in this specific release is not that great, i think it's copper based so it oxidizes which explains the green residue (that's in the case that you got your nib). It will rub off but up to a point. Mine will rub off just from time to time but only a bit. I wiped it carefully when i opened it. i think its just the excess paint because when i wiped it sure paint came off but the color was still the same.

Thanks so much. I'm going to rub it down, if it all comes off, it all comes off. I'll have someone else touch it up with better paint.

Edit: BLECH. I just got paint in my mouth.

Lasted less than a minute. Couldn't really make out the order. Almost typing with my forehead. Ended with me banging my forehead on the keyboard.

I got one into my cart somehow, but then couldn't figure out how to make the next step. Totally bummed. Really want one if anybody here got one but doesn't end up keeping it - though I'm not interested in paying 200% retail.
Also would like Viceroy Gulmeyer (blue or yellow) - but again, not at 200% retail.

After this morning's experience, my outlook is gloomy. More sculpts, more colorways - more chances to be frustrated and disappointed. Google Translate only added to my frustration this morning.
But yeah, I still am looking forward to seeing this line develop...
Oh - and I really want to see a bright green Commando!

in my experience, google translate is only so accurate, I usually copy and paste text to freetranslation.com as well and try to extract the meaning based on both. most online carts are going to include some form of button or drop down menu and more often than not those remain untranslated.

Sucks to hear, I've had 0 issues using Chrome/translator/Autofill when I go through Japanese retailers at top speed.

The Vader had an open run for the unpainted, maybe he'll do that again for these?

Also, anyone ever been hit with customs fees with goods from Japan?

So does the translator make it so you know which buttons to hit, and what to enter into each field? Because I didn't get that at all when I tried it.

Yeah, it was pretty clear. It usually is when I go through Japanese cart systems like that too.

Wish the lust would die down. hopefully with more releases, things will become a bit more reasonable on the secondary market.

Someone thought the price was good, it's gone now. I'm sure after a first wave get sold, it will settle down.
