Re: Vintage Mail Day
Thanks Jonathan. I was trying to find a video of that Lion Maru episode online but could not. It's episode 3 entitled The Demon Forest: Wakuranba. I watched episode 2, something about a Yamawaro. It's a shame some of the other villains weren't made into toys. Lion Maru had some pretty interesting ones.
Lion Maru sure had some amazing villains, you are definitely right about that Lixx. Some of the greatest vintage toys/monsters, right up there with Barom-1 and Ninja Arashi. It is a shame we never got to see more materialised in the vintage versions.
I can't seem to embed the video as it is not on youtube, but you can see some classic villains in this battle highlight clip from the show. His fight with Wakuranba begins around the 0:50 mark:

Thanks Ultra. Yeah it's the clip that is 8:29 minute long. Sure was a short fight with Wakuranba going down with one stab of a sword! Toy is so much better than the actual character. I just realized Lion Maru is completely the inspiration for Danger Five Season 2's character McKenzie!
Now I want to watch a Danger Five marathon all over again!
Congratulations Chris!!! Leafy is one eye-popping toy in of itself, but the one you adopted is in stellar condition! Lookit all that silver!
^^^Chris's photo deserves to be brought back on this page to salivate over

You're darn tootin' Grace! That one is a real looker, beautiful paint all around, AANNDD with the sword. A wonderful toy. (Definitely suitable for standing next to all those Tiger-7s a certain someone might have ) You picked up a great one there Lixx, and I know you have really been restricted on the toy buying for some time now, so that makes this so much sweeter. I am happy for you. Certainly a very choice toy to break the streak on, and my full thanks and good karma wishes to the former parent of this fellow (you know who you are).
I know who the parent is too! That mole on the photo-left leg is a great "birth mark"

I actually have a bunch of Lion Maru episodes. I just uploaded episode 3. I have more if anyone wants.
Thanks J! That was entertaining. Even though I don't understand japanese I did hear the word "Wakuranba" uttered. That drunken master friend was cool with his fighting style. So I take it every episode feature those henchmen with skull masks? Color coded to the villain?

I know the two previous owners (both on this board) so it's nice it has stayed around here.
The things Leafy could tell you about his previous households . Perhaps you should collect an army of Leafies and I can collect an army of Tigers? Looking forward to seeing more photos of your Leafy in the "Vintage Outdoors" thread!

Definitely going in that thread! Forgot about that one.
If I were to collect an army of Leaf Man I need to start with his Popy sized mini buddy companion first. Anyone want to trade me one of those?:

LOL and if I get an army of Leafman we'll have to at least trade one for the other (Tiger 7/ Leafman)- because I'd be poor for the rest of my life surely!
Ugh! That small Leafy is so hard to find! I'm right in behind Chris, on that adoption line please . How about some pics of Leafy braving the big East Coast Storm? I hear it's a doozy. Right now 20 in. of snow have been measured in some places, and NY is expecting to have 30 in.
Really crazy! Stay safe out there! P.S. Those Tigers are still #1 in my heart, but the Leafy's are not far behind

Re: Vintage Mail Day
Buffalo is safe and sound from the big storm. It's all on the coast. Clear skies, full moon tonight. In Buffalo we kind of laugh at this supposed blizzard 2016. So you mean like a normal Buffalo snowstorm of a foot or two of snow? No offense to people below the Mason-Dixon line but they can't handle the snow, an inch is a major catastrophic event. Last year alone I had over 6 feet of snow on both sides of my 140 ft long driveway- and that was all dug by shovel by the end of the season. This year we're saving our backs and went with a snowblower (well we actually got that in March 2015 an of course it did not snow after we got it). Turned a job that took a long long long time into a 20 minute adventure.
I'm sure we'll get hit soon enough though, but hopefully it will be one of those not so snowy years.
You can send Leafy to me for safe keeping, when it does hit .

Who dis? Not actually something new to my collection, but he's been in storage since the aughts. Forgot all about him until I found him hiding in a bin with a bunch of ceramic owls.
Popy Ninja Captor figure. There were 7 different characters/colors in the set. I never saw the show but think they were an early iteration of a Power Rangers-like series. They also made a set of removable mask standard size vinyl figures for the show. I've been trying to get a blue removable mask figure to complete my set. It's been a years-long pursuit.

Ha! I love it when you surprise us with these little treasures you dig out every once in a while D. See, I keep saying you have the internal vintage bug all along, you just need to feeeeeeeed that itch. Come on, this guy is so lonely without some other team members to play with.
