Too bad that cover is from the Rachel Pollack run. But Doom Patrol by Morrison is definitely the bee's knees. Can't say the same for his Batman run, however.

I still cannot believe how bad BvS was.
The only thing I liked was Wonder Woman smiling before getting back into the fight.
I was expecting Snyder to disappoint me again but I was expecting some great visuals - the movie did not even deliver these.

That being said - I cannot wait for Civil War!!!

I can't stand Zack Snyder. I haven't seen BvS but I saw Man of Steel which made it clear to me that he had no idea who Superman is as a character. Letting this guy helm the DC movie universe was a huge mistake.

I just don't know if I can keep giving these non marvel studios movies my hard earned money. With the exception of Deadpool I haven't enjoyed any DC or marvel (Fox and Sony Shit) for awhile and I think I'm getting event fatigue for comic book movies.
I didn't even know that shit was possible!

I am not quite there yet but I know what you mean.
I am still enjoying the shit out of all Marvel (TV and Movies) and DC TV.
Deadpool's success makes me hope that they might give the creatives a little more freedom in the future but I am afraid that in the end we will just be getting R-rated superheroes...

DC movies . . . should be dead to me but Suicide Squad looks fun . . . :?

I am really looking forward to The Killing Joke. Yeah it's animated but it's such a powerful story and the fact they decided to let it stay true to form and come out rated R is pretty cool. Some punches should not be pulled.

And they've brought back Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill for classic TAS voice casting! There's a 10 minute behind the scenes feature on YouTube if you haven't seen it.

That's different. Those animated movies are so god damn good. The adaptation of Dark Knight Returns is great as well as the New Frontier. Plus I am a huge Brian Bolland fan so Killing Joke is a must own for me.

The reasons they dropped the cover were ridiculous.

The state of mainstream comics today is pretty ridiculous overall.

In the end though he asked them to pull it himself so we can't really blame anyone else for it. I loved the piece and I still hope he releases it as a poster or print or something.

Saw Civil War on Sunday. It was perfectly fine. The story probably would have benefitted from a tighter cast and a more concentrated story. But my favorite parts were the slightly extraneous parts with the newer more colorful characters. Loved Spiderman and Ant-man.

BvS was bad, only parts I liked were Jesse Eisenberg and the pee jar.

Deadpool was really fun, wish I had seen it earlier with a big crowd rather than on Sunday morning with three other people. I did wish it had a slightly bigger budget, but I guess we'll get that with the sequal.

Haven't watched anything from the tv universe for some reason or another.

Civil War was just okay I thought, but thankfully a far cry and fairly distanced from the trainwreck that is a Millar story. I still don't really think it was necessary, and would have much rather just had another classic Cap story, but hey, if this is what the studios think sells now.... [sigh] Definitely leagues ahead of BvS (which has so many faults I don't even want to get into right now). It could have used a lot of tweaking in terms of story and cutting back on useless action. And honestly, the plot completely falls apart if you examine it [but I will withhold that for spoilers for now]. I think the general consensus will definitely be Spider-man is one of the shining points of the film, even if I don't exactly like how he was handled.

In summary, a typical Disney/Marvel movie, very formulaic and delivers - sort of - what is promised. Better than the source material (which is damning with faint praise I admit), and works as a Cap film, but I would have taken it in another direction (or preferabll just done another story entirely).

    I really liked Civil War.
It is not perfect and maybe a little too long, but it once again manages to shake things up - I cannot wait to see their next installment and how they will deal with the aftermath.
I do not want to say more to not spoil the fun for anyone.

Damn, just read word that they (abc) have cancelled Agent Carter. The fact that Hayley Atwell has already signed on for a new show, and her recent appearance in Civil War makes me think this was a long-planned decision, but still kinda sucks. Peggy (b/c of Atwell) was such a good character, which is exactly why she earned her own standalone show. Obviously I would have much rather seen Peggy's adventures with the Howlin' Commandos, but obviously budgets (and probably story control) would not have allowed for something like that. But still, I think the show stood its own, and was a decent fare. Particularly since I think AoS has faltered severely the last few season, I am disappointed. I can only take so much of Arrow/Flash, before I need something else. If only we didn't have so long waits between the Netflix series'! (heads and shoulders above the rest in my opinion)

The cancellation of Agent Carter is bullshit. I would be pretty stoked if they continued the stories with a comic series a la Buffy Seasons 8 - 10. But I won't hold my breath.

For anyone who enjoys Flash, I thought the finale was pretty good! Zoom had a pretty one-dimensional ending to a fairly one dimensional villain, but I liked the twists in how they defeated him. It seems like the heroes get some complexity on the show, but it would be awesome if they could flesh out a villain more. Bad guys are people too!

I was convinced that we were going to see Wally become Kid Flash this season, but so much else happened, it make sense that they are holding on to that.

Spoilers!!! Just kidding. But I haven't watched the finale yet. I dunno, I will be happy to see the (apparent?) end of Zoom. I was not a big fan of the whole Jay Garrick/Zoom crossover, partly because it felt so heavy handed and forced (nevermind that it changes all the preceding stories), and the fact that the show has already done so much of the secret big bad thing, but MAINLY because, dammit, I want to see Tony Todd. Come on, his voice is so characteristic and defining, and is the way we are introduced to Zoom on the show. It does a disservice to him to not have him be Zoom in the end. And the whole voice changing thing is pretty annoying enough as it is on the Arrowverse shows.

Anyway, more thoughts later after I watch it, and of course, the inevitable 'Jay' reveal.

Watch close! In one scene Cisco has Star Trek TNG playing in the background, and guess who shows up!

Ha, that is great! Obviously not a coincidence then, so I am glad they at least gave him a shout out for his work. Now I will be watching for sure. I might have missed it had you not mentioned it specifically, so thanks for the heads up.
