Those bottoms on that guy look so crazy. I imagine they're filled with water or maybe air that's circulated to cool his nether parts, or for some other reason.

First, a bit of backstory:

I posted my sales thread with some Buta toys last week. None of the toys I put up for sale were duplicates, where I had an extra, or ones that I had multiple colorways of. All the toys are ones that came out of my collection and any that are sold means that my Buta collection just got a bit smaller.

I sell some things from my collection from time to time put some funds together, usually to pay off something else I shouldn't have bought. Like many of us, I collect too many things.

Even though I like helping some fellow aficionados of the brilliance that is Butanohana, and it's awesome to help someone else get a long time want filled, I gotta admit that it stings a bit anytime I sell a Buta toy.

So, imagine my surprise, after coming to terms with my collection dwindling, to get an out of the blue offer from another Buta fanatic, to either buy something from my sale OR trade for another Buta toy that had been on my wants list for years! He even pulled the toy from his own collection (not a double or one he had multiple colorways of) and offered the trade because I'd helped him in the past fill a long time want of his.

First of all, I can completely relate to the sting of selling off butanohana toys. His universe is so vast, it is hard for most to collect it all but that doesn't make it any easier parting with them. As someone who reaped a gem from your sales, I thank you all the same.

Second of all, congrats on pipi! One of my favorite sculpts and the best version as well!

Lastly, shout out to Jeff for being a huge behind the scenes mover and shaker. He has helped me end long term quests and is an all around swell guy!

Maybe I'm soft, but I can feel the good vibes from here.

Every time I see a Butanohana piece I blame myself for not starting my collection earlier.

 

I was going to post a similar thank you post, but Paul beat me to it. I will take a proper mail day picture once I can catch the light.

Paul's amazingly priced sale thread put an end to a 2+ year quest for a Birdon set and a Gamerot which were easily in my top 10 wants. It only felt right to try to find a way to give back some of the joy that sale brought me.

The Butanohana universe is vast and sometimes after you build up a decently sized collection, it just seems like the right thing to do is to let a piece of the collection go to somebody else equally interested in helping other collectors. The Buta crew on this board is small, but fantastic. Part of what makes Butanohana collecting so great is interacting with you all.

@ultrakaiju It would have been great if I paid the release price. But unfortunately my only glory was to pay 4 times the price... But I wanted this Amuro.

 

Slowly unpacking more boxes, and finally setting a goal to start soaping some of the toys wrapped in bubble wrap! These guys were just bathed and are sitting in the office while I work...The Frank toys which were wrapped in less than clean bubble wrap (from an auction), was starting to feel slightly sticky, but soap and water got them squeaky clean. Many thanks to Chris, Jeff, Paul, and Archam for helping me adopt these cuties. And many apologies to those I have adopted from, but not yet posted pics of the toys (especially my dearest Toy Angel). Life is throwing some curve balls again, and more travel, so keeping them in boxes until they are ready to be soaped is the best way to ensure they aren't damaged (especially with 21 & 24 lb toy-chewing tabbies who attack toys on sight, roaming around the house!). More soon (bubble wrapped toys get baths first!).

 

Ha Grace I love Jim Woodring's Frank. I own several of those comics/graphic novels. Glad I could assist on an adoption and looking forward to your toys escaping bubble wrap and into cases. I know I personally feel lost with all my toys in 4 giant Sterlite tubs in the garage so it's nice to see other people getting set up and hopefully my disconnect from my toy collection wil lbe short lived.
