That is pretty cool, if a bit cruder and less polished than the other designs, but the concept is interesting. Have to say I hate the face on it though. Should've just left it alone, it make it look far too comical.
I feel it needs a face (or something). Just would've like to see something more menacing and less happy face-ish. Maybe not so symmetric or level eyes, or a real chunkier concrete mouth. I am nitpicking, I know.
I like it even more with this extra paint to give it a more weathered look . . . . i wonder if this will be on the production run when they surface.
I feel that if I contributed, I'd fall in deep with these guys. they make really great stuff. really talented sculptor(s).
Thanks! You've got my favorite Paborasu in that little family and the fellow in the center is a real stunner.
lottery open or closed ... is not a problem monstock lotteries are not open to registrations from outside Japan
I've never liked anything from Monstock enough to buy and then I just saw these...I think it's a very different direction for the company.
3 cheers for monstock! I'm a big paborasu fan, they are quite under the radar but with a strong fanbase. Good stuff don't appear often and dun come cheap..Anyone knows how new products are released? Lottery? Direct in store only Sales?
I'd like to own the building guy one day, but the cones on their blog seemed pretty weird. What are they for? Also, those skulls are really neat. Looks like chocolate candy in that vinyl color.
The tiny tanks I think are what sold me. It seems they do everything by lottery, but I could be wrong. I only have the yellow pabu from Lulu and one of their coin frogs in pink, which is absolutely amazing and I wish I had more of their stuff, but it seems to be difficult to get your hands on their stuff. Or those in the know are not talking. (Not that I can blame them!)
Sometimes they put eyes on the cones, you can also put the dino skulls on them. Monstock does not sell overseas, I tried, I got a nice translated reply they don't speak English and don't know how to use paypal.
Question about Monstock for more knowledgeable boardies. What is the Anraku connection with Monstock. Their logo is on the homepage, I think some Anraku figures used to be available through Monstock, but do they currently collaborate? Some of the standard figures like Parabosu, Froggen, and Moai Robo look Anrakuish, but are collaborations with Minoru Sugiama. Anyone know what the deal is?
Far as I know, Joe, Anraku has just done paintings for a bunch of their header art. The example of this I'm most familiar with (naturally) is the header for the Monstock exclusive version of Atelier G-1's Pygmon: ...but I'm pretty sure there have been others.
